New animal model for Parkinson's disease (PD)

The technology developed is a new “humanized” model of genetically-modified rodents (both rats and mice) that recapitulate some of the main features of PD, including progressive, age-dependent degeneration of PD-vulnerable neuronal populations, intracytoplasmic inclusion formation and motor impairment.

Stage of development: TRL 3, experimental proof of concept.
