CTIC Centro Tecnológico
CTIC Centro Tecnológico is a private non-profit organization specialized in the research and development of cutting-edge technologies.
According to its Statutes, CTIC has as foundational purposes:
The contribution to the general benefit of society and the improvement of the competitiveness of companies through the generation of ICT technological knowledge, carrying out R & D & i activities and developing their application.
The promotion and development of the information society in general and of information and communication technologies.
It is registered as a technological center in the Register of Technological Centers and Technological Innovation Support Centers according to Resolution of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of November 23, 2011 with number 94 in accordance with Royal Decree 2093/2008, of December 10, It is part of the Network of Technology Centers of the Principality of Asturias.
Since 2003, CTIC has hosted the Spanish Office of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), whose main mission is to promote the adoption of the W3C recommendations among developers, application creators, and the Web community in general, promoting inclusion of organizations that commit to the creation of future recommendations by joining the W3C.
CTIC currently has a team of 21 researchers, which includes engineers, doctoral students and doctors, who have participated in more than 50 Spanish R & D & I projects in collaboration with a wide range of companies, most of them SMEs. At the European level, CTIC has participated in 2 European projects in the INTERREG program, 1 project in FP6, 4 projects in FP7, 1 project in the AAL Program and 1 project in the Lifelong Learning Program during the last 5 years.
