GENyO is the first national center dedicated to genomics that integrates the Public Administration, the University and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical business sector, which will allow the integration of research in all its phases, from the generation of knowledge to its development in clinical and pharmacological applications, and the development of new projects and services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with human genetic variability, such as cancer, rare diseases, diabetes, hypertension or degenerative diseases, among other. It has been designed with the aim of becoming an international reference center where research of excellence is developed in the convergence and interaction space of genomics applied to health.

GENyO will focus its efforts on the establishment of technological approaches aimed at solving the health problems of citizens. The center was born with the philosophy of doing basic, applied and translational research. Its mission is to minimize the time between the development of new technologies, products and / or procedures, and their possible application in health.

The center is managed by the FUNDACIÓN PÚBLICA ANDALUZA PROGRESO Y SALUD, dependent on the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Junta de Andalucía.
